HeartWired™ Experience

Accessibility & Belonging

Everyone deserves a learning space that is usable, welcoming, and safe. The HeartWired™ approach weaves accessibility (how people can use the experience) with belonging (how people feel in it). This page shares our commitments and how to request what you need.

What this covers

This statement applies to live sessions (Zoom), recordings, downloadable resources, and course/series pages associated with Wired for Belonging™ LLC and Dr. Danny G. It will evolve as our offerings evolve.

Our accessibility commitments

  • Captions by default: Live auto-captions enabled; recordings include captions.
  • Keyboard-friendly: We design pages and links to be reachable without a mouse.
  • Readable contrast: Color choices target AA contrast; critical info never relies on color alone.
  • Clear structure: Headings, lists, and descriptive link text support screen reader navigation.
  • Alt text where it helps: Informational images include alt text; decorative images are marked decorative.
  • Slide design: Large type, minimal clutter, and verbalization of key visuals during sessions.
  • Replay window: Time-boxed replays (e.g., 7 days) to support review and flexible access.

Target standard: WCAG 2.2 AA for web content where technically feasible on Squarespace and common platforms.

Belonging practices in live sessions

  • Camera choice: Camera-off is always welcome; participation can be via chat or reflection.
  • Names: You may share your name (and pronouns if you choose) in chat or display name.
  • Plain-language facilitation: We avoid jargon and define terms we introduce.
  • Trauma-aware pacing: Opt-in prompts; consent to engage; you can pass anytime.
  • Quiet join: Enter muted; we use “SoulAgreements™” to set norms and reduce pressure.

Land & Belonging Statement (We–I–You)

We speak this live at the start of each HeartWired™ session; this written version is shared here for transparency.

We. We honor the Indigenous peoples whose lands hold us and the ongoing stewardship and sovereignty of Native nations. We also name this digital space—Zoom—as a real room with its own dynamics of power, access, and care. Captions are always on; cameras are optional; chat and emoji are valid participation.

I. I (the facilitator) briefly situate my positionality and commitments—naming how place and platform shape my practice and what I’m still learning.

You. You’re invited to take one breath and set an intention: What would help you feel seen and safe enough to learn today—in this land, in this digital room, in this moment?

Ground & Belonging Agreements (Full Version)

Last updated: September 2025. This is a living document. We revise as we learn.

1) Orientation

  • Each session opens with a Land & Belonging Statement using the We–I–You structure.

2) Access & Care

  • Camera: On or off—your choice.
  • Captions: Always on by default; use or ignore as you wish.
  • Pronouns: Share if you’d like; we honor what you share.
  • Multiple modes: Chat, reactions, and polls count as full participation.
  • Breaks: Bio/bandwidth breaks are valid—rejoin when you can.

3) Confidentiality with Learning

  • Learning leaves; stories stay. Share ideas and practices beyond the session; do not share names or identifying details without explicit consent.

4) Consent & Boundaries

  • You may pass on any question or activity.
  • You may say “not for me today.”
  • You may ask for a pause if something lands hard.

5) Call-In Culture

  • Challenge ideas, not people.
  • If harm occurs, we pause, name, and repair—with care, not shame.
  • We assume good intent and insist on accountability for impact.

6) Language & Respect

  • Use I-statements for lived experience; avoid generalizations.
  • Avoid ableist idioms (e.g., “walk us through” → “move through together”).
  • Name people as they name themselves; avoid assumptions.

7) Time Integrity

  • One mic at a time; facilitators pace for fairness.
  • We begin and end on time.

8) Digital Transparency

  • Recording: Sessions may be recorded; registrants receive 7-day replay access. Please don’t redistribute.
  • Screenshots: Only with consent.
  • Data use: We may use anonymized takeaways to improve future sessions.

9) Taking It With You

  • Carry the learning, not the names or personal details.

10) Questions & Access Needs

If you have access needs or questions, email the@drdannyg.com. We’ll adapt where possible.

Requesting accommodations

If you need an accommodation (e.g., ASL, CART, extended replay, slide deck in advance, large-print resources), please reach out and we’ll collaborate on a solution.

  • Best time to ask: At least 7 days before a live session when possible.
  • How to ask: Email the@drdannyg.com with the session name, date, and your request.
  • Cost: We cover reasonable accommodation costs for our programs.

Language, names, and pronouns

We honor how people name themselves. Sharing pronouns is optional; we’ll model respectful language and avoid assumptions. If we get something wrong, we’ll correct quickly and keep learning.

Inclusive content & AI transparency

  • Content checks: We review for readability, cultural sensitivity, and clarity.
  • AI usage: We may use AI for drafting or captioning. Human review is applied before delivery.
  • Data & privacy: We don’t sell personal data. Accessibility requests are used only to serve you.

Give feedback or report a barrier

If you encounter an accessibility or belonging barrier, we want to know so we can fix it quickly.

  • Email: the@drdannyg.com
  • Subject line suggestion: “Accessibility Feedback – [Page/Session name]”
  • Helpful details: device, browser, what you were trying to do, and a screenshot if possible.

We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and propose next steps within 5–7 business days.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility and belonging are ongoing practices. We iterate with community input and evolving standards.
